Americredit Financial are crooks
AmeriCredit Complaint
Our van was repossed, we made all 60 payments and were told we owed interest, we fell one month behind and all of a sudden , one Thursday night, the repo men came knocking, this company, CRG OR COMMENWEALTH RECOVERY GROUP, were a bunch of jerks, the driver got in my face while I was removing our daughters car seats. We received no prior notice that our car was going to be repossesed. Americredit made their money off our 60 payments of over 350.00 dollars and then calculated interest of over 2000.00 owed. They will not get another penny out of us.

I made only the interest payment for my Aug. payment. If I did not give my medical bills something I would no longer be able to see my doctor. I was away for almost four weeks due to a family illnes, would get home after 8pm and leave before 8 am. There were 4 to 5 messages on my phone each day to call Americredit. I felt a little harassed! I did not want to pay nothing, so I thought at least the interest part would be okay until I could get the rest paid back. A few weeks before all this started I had called them to ask for a refinance if possible. THEY DON'T DO THIS. It's your tuff luck. Unfortunately, I had to retire, had to have a car and got a 19% interest rate because of this. UNFORTUNATELY I did not know I was going to need a lot of medical treatment that cost quit a bit. Who knows this ahead of time? I think it is a real shame that they can take this kind of advantage of people at a hard time in their life. Other than the bankruptcy I had to file, I was told my credit was not that bad except for the medical part of it. I kept my normal bills paid on time until I was advised by my attorney to stop all payments. Now, my credit is getting ruined again because this creditor will not help out. I tried getting refinance by two other banks and they would not do it because I owe twice the amount of what the car is worth. I put it up for sale and have had a number of offers, but none for the price I need to pay off the loan. They can't get a loan to buy it because it's almost twice the blue book value. I got an e-mail from them today to get in touch with them and the site won't come up. I've been trying since the phone calls started to e-mail them and I get messages that this site is not working. My payments have alway bee on time, I have them set to automaticlly paid. I am trying so hard to get my credit back to a halfway decent score, I have no credit cards, again pay my monthly payments automaticall and I'm wondering why should I even try. NOW, I think I'm going to have to let them have the car back, which puts me in a real mess because I need to get to dr. appts., help with my Mother who is now in a nursing home and get to grocery store etc. Because of my financial situation I do not go alot of places so I'm not spending money recklessly. You would think one month would not break this Company but I guess my half payment is going to put them in dire straights. I know there are a lot of people out there who are not good at their bill, and they choose that way of life. I do not, I DO try to pay my bills, after all, I make them.

Chris, you story is too familiar. I fell behind, but caught up as quickly as possible. I got a letter from Americredit after they had turned me over to the credit agencies, and told me exactly what I still owed...I sent it, immediately...30 - 45 days later, It showed was past due, now paid, on my credit report, and now, they are saying that I owe 800.00 dollars. I think it's time legal action is taken, maybe a group of us getting together will get some attention. They still have my title also.

The people that come on and make comments about paying bills on time and defending Americredit are obviously Americredit employees.

I'm going to have to agree with Brad on this. Interest accrues every day that a payment isn't made. Late fees have to be paid on any loan before it's paid off. In fact, you can hold off on late fees and not be penalized, they just have to be paid by the loan maturity date. Your vehicles are "stolen" without notice because if they told you they were coming to repossess, would you keep it in a place they could find it? I really don't understand the mentality that almost everyone on this forum has about high interest rates, the rates are high because your credit ***. Yeah *** happens, but most people that have bad credit got that way because they are irresponsible, and really really had to have something nice that they couldn't really afford because having lots of stuff makes you important. And please don't reply with sob stories about why your credit ***. I understand that bad stuff happens.

these people are just legalized theives! They sneak in in the middle of the night, steal your car without no notice. I have reported my dealing with the B.B.B. in Houston Texas and suggest anyone else who has had aproblem with them to do the same! If they get enough bad reports on them maybe someone will get off there rears and do something! If you live in Pa. they scout your house out driving a white S.U.V. until your asleep, then steal your car, even when they don't have a right to.

Americredit is like any other major corporation in this country. The American dream is abolished more and more every day due to the greed and over zealousness of corporate CEO's and Mid to upper level accountants. Some how or another its always the consumers fault, well guess what ford, gm, chrysler you're going under where you belong. The new American after the war pays him/herself before your crooked *** freedom of speech is a wonderful thing. Hopefully our economy can get better, companies loose their greed and spend some money in places needed, people make money because big companies helped establish jobs and opportunities thats the way its supposed to be.

Are you people serious, or are you mentally challenged? How do you not know that on a simple interest loan, interest accrues per day, even when you defer the payment. You were financed with Americredit because you did not have good credit, they were willing to help you get back on track, and then when you do not live up to your obligations, you call them crooks. You are the crook for not paying what you owe. its people like you who put the economy in the place that it is; borrowing way more than what you can afford, then begging for forgiveness when you can pay your bill, and calling a company that takes back THEIR PROPERTY crooks when they try to remedy the problem. Understand what you are getting into, then you will not be in the situation you are in. PAY YOUR BILLS!!!!!!!!

Amazing that we have politicians bailing out corporations and businesses that use Americredit, often without revealing the terms of the contract.
They are crooks and should be exposed to every politician at local, state, and federal levels, plus Attorney Generals of each state.

Wow that is scarry. We just paid off our truck with them and they told me that my loan, principal and intrest is paid in full. But I got a letter today stating that I still owe $932.50 in late fee's which I think is a crock of ****. I had gotten an deferment when my dad passed away and one other time when my husband had gotten hurt I was not told that the note would balloon at the end of the note. After being on time for almost a year all at once they are showing me 120 days past due on my credit and it was that way until the 20th of Nov. The damage is done and I feel like I worked my butt off to do what was right and uphold my obligation only to get slapped in the face at the end of it all. Now I have to pay the $932.50 before they will give me my title. It just does not seem fair... However up until now I was treated very nice and never had a problem. What a snake in the grass!
