Americredit recently bought out my loan with Long Beach Acceptance. In January, I contacted LBA to let them know that I was suffering financial hardship. They graciously offered me a two month deferrment because I had made 28 on time payments. Long Beach Acceptance said that I did not have a car payment due until March 19. In late January I started getting harassing phone calls from a "Americredit". I wrote it off as solicitor because I have no debtors by that name. Finally I answered one of the calls and they stated that they assumed LBA and were now servicing my loan. They exclaimed that I was past due on my payment. I explained that I was not obligated to make a payment until March 19 as I was granted a deferrment for two months. Americredit said that they did not see any proof and did not want to honor the deferrments. I stated that just because they changed names you cant just dishonor the promises made to me three weeks ago and I have the voicemail from your associate approving the deferred payment. I said that I needed to speak to a manager. I replayed the scenario to a manager who said they would get back to me. I waited for days and called several times before he finally called back to tell me once again they would not honor the promise made by LBA. I told them that I was not making the payment until March 19 and they can report me to the credit bureau as I was still in a financial bind and the payment was arranged for that date. SINCE then, AMERICREDIT calls me 9 times a day and leaves me 7 messages on the same phone. This is illegal under the Fair Credit Act and Fair Debtors Act. I let them know that I was not paying until the 19th of March and that they are harassing me and in violation. They continue to call me six times before noon starting at 7AM, and call as late as 830PM.... If they would have kept the word of the company they acquired, to provide customer service to a long time customer who has never been a day late, and ethically make the right business decision, I would not be late on payments. I have in writing sent them a complaint asking them to no longer call me, and sent complaints to the above mentioned reporting agencies for the company violation on collection laws. REPORT THIS BUSINESS IF YOU HAVE COMPLAINTS !!!!

AVOID this company at all cost, walk away if the dealership says they will fianance you. I to had a similar situation with a deferment not being honored, and the constant harassing phone calls. RUN DONT WALK AWAY.

Americredit did not assume the loan, Long Beach Acceptance Corp was sold to Americredit. From what I understand that in January and February is when Long Beach Acceptance Corp Collections and Customer service was let go

I don't understand what you are complaining about.I have had an auto loan with Americredit for appoximately 3 years,and have NEVER had a problem with them. 

I have been late on a payment in the past,yet when I checked my credit report,there was NO mention of it . 

Maybe they aren't the best loan company to deal with,but as stated ,I have no problem.In fact,when I requested to skip a payment due to a minor hardship,all the details were worked out to both parties concerned.I would finance with them again.In fact I just requested a new loan via e-mail today.

I have horror stories about Americredit. They have taken money out of my account and I had to close it to keep them from taking more. I have also had the harassing phone calls. How many times do you have to call to say you owe money, like we don't already know that! Do you think we like owing money to such an unscrupulous company? I, too, will never go back. I had an opportunity to buy a new car. When they mentioned that Americredit was willing to finance it, I almost fell out of my chair, and walked away from the deal. Never again! Never!

Just talked with them and of course they denie that they called that often. Mistakenly I told them that we have a internet answering machine and it logs all missed calls in email format and that i can inquire about getting a detail listing of it to prove that they are harassing us. I really am not trying to shuck the responsibility that I have in the situation, I just dont know how dragons breath calls help in collecting anything. Honestly I have had it and am about ready to cram the darn car down their throat. It honestly has played *** on my emotions due to their attitude. Sad thing is that we have always saved and paid cash for used vehicles - well i got suckered and signed thinking how great a new car would be. Take it from me the new car high doesnt last long at all - biggest mistake i have made in a long time.

if i could go back in time and change one thing it would be not have signed with this company, and trust me there are a lot of things i would like to change but getting rid of this monkey is top priority. They lie and are rude to you on the phone. I understand that I owe them one months payment and have been late in the PAST and explained to them i am trying to do everything I can to earn the money to send off to them and all you hear back is that you are late. Well DUH!!!! I said I understand am trying like *** to get it in. When I signed for this loan i complained that i was not receiving payment coupons in the mail soon enough to get payment to them before dead line - sometimes not until after it was due(think it may be a game on their side for extra $) so they tell me about the web site. I sign up for the web site and all is well again until the "fast, FREE and easy" turns into a lie, they want to charge you a fee on top of it to use the web site for payments - BULL ***!!! Why???? is my question and never get a straight answer back from them on the site or the late payment coupon. I ever requested a payment book to have and they would not send it out, the game is that they send you next coupon after they receive your prior months payment so that if you where close to the date on the prior month you WILL be late this month due to coupon not getting amiled out to you. I inquired why it was this way and got no real answer. 

 

One thing that would change my opinion is if they didnt brow beat you all day with the calls, call once and leave a message and that is enough.  

 

Really really really hate this company and will never have a kind word about them - wish i would have researched more before falling for the hype of their company - should have stuck with my gut. 

 

I would like to close by saying - YES - i know they are well within their right to call to try and receive payment but when they are causing people mental and physical distress it may be time to back off some. One call or two if you must but to have the hang ups and the constant messages is ridiculous. Almost wonder if they get paid by the call or something.

I agree 100%. I have made payments on time for almost 3 yrs. I was 10 days late on payment one month and received 6 automated voicemails in one day. I paid bill online and still received automated calls the next day.
